And our relationships with you – the public trust we build. Mental Health Kokua (MHK) was founded in 1973 as a non-profit, Hawaii corporation, specifically to assist persons recovering from serious mental illness in achieving their optimum level of independent living in the community. Since our founding, building relationships with a handful of mental health consumers in one house on Sierra Drive, MHK has grown to an organization with sites dispersed throughout Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and on the Island of Hawaii.
